What to expect:
Parking is limited at Momentum Tattoo. If the parking spaces are filled you may park in front of the building in the gravel.
When you enter Momentum Tattoo you will be greeted and asked to fill out paperwork at the front desk. You will need a photo ID. Then, Alicia will present you with the design. You may ask for any changes or additions to the design you like. Custom tattoos are a collaborative process and you are more than welcome to provide input on the tattoo design you will be wearing on your body forever. Please understand there are limitations to what can be tattooed, and be prepared to make compromises if you are asking for a heavily detailed piece.
When the design has been sized and finalized you will be cleaned and shaved for the stencil process. You will be able to see the stencil in the mirror or in a photograph if it’s located on the back. It’s normal for this process to take multiple tries. Please do not be afraid to ask to move or resize your stencil. Alicia is more than happy to take extra time to make sure your tattoo is placed just how you want.
When the stencil has been placed and dried you will lie down on our massage table. Alicia uses a wide massage table that is rated for up to 800 lbs. You may bring items for comfort such as headphones, a pillow, a blanket, a book, snacks, water, etc.
You may ask for a break at any point during your tattoo.
When the tattoo is completed you will be cleaned off and given an opportunity to look at your tattoo in the mirror. Then, you will be bandaged and given an explanation of the healing process. You can find healing instructions here
For payment, Alicia accepts: Cash, Venmo, Zelle, Cashapp, and Paypal.
For larger pieces, Alicia charges a $200-$250 hourly rate and works at a very fast pace. For smaller tattoos, Alicia charges a flat rate. Most tattoos take 1-3hrs and you are more than welcome to ask for a pricing estimate before your appointment.
How to dress:
It is likely you will be laying down for multiple hours for your tattoo session. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing.
Tattoo and stencil ink leave stains that are usually impossible to remove. It’s very rare that Alicia stains anyone’s clothing or shoes other than her own, but please understand accidents happen.
When getting your back tattooed you may wear a low-back shirt for the upper back. You can also bring a button-up or zip-up hoodie to wear backward so that your back is exposed without exposing your front. You may also be shirtless for a back tattoo if that is what you find most comfortable.
For a tattoo on your chest or ribs, you may wear a bandeau bra, a bathing suit top, a loose-fitting shirt you can easily lift, or pasties. You do not have to be completely topless for any chest tattoo if you are not comfortable with it. Momentum Tattoo does have privacy barriers if you’d like to use them.
